Camelot is developing a direct sequel to the acclaimed Game Boy Advance RPG Golden Sun, titled Golden Sun: The Lost Age. The follow-up is expected to launch in early next year, less than a year after the original game's release.
Golden Sun concluded with a cliffhanger, leaving the quest to light four elemental lighthouses incomplete. The original game only saw Isaac and his party visit the Mercury (water) and Venus (earth) lighthouses, with the story ending as they set off to sea. The Lost Age will continue this narrative, addressing the fate of the characters and the world of Weyard.
Famitsu revealed earlier this year that the sequel will feature a new cast of protagonists. Felix, who was part of the antagonist group in the first game, is now the lead character. He is joined by his sister Jenna, who wields fire magic, and Sheba, who uses wind magic. The identity of a fourth party member, who would likely wield water-themed magic, remains unconfirmed, though the antagonist Alex is a possibility.
A gameplay trailer released at E3 2002 showcases Felix and his companions navigating a wind-themed dungeon. The trailer also demonstrated new Psynergies and in-battle summons, and highlighted the game's music. New screenshots have also emerged, depicting Felix crossing a rope bridge, a dragon summon in battle, and the party sailing on a winged ship across the ocean.
Golden Sun: The Lost Age is the second part of Camelot's epic GBA RPG saga and promises to conclude the adventure that began with the first title.
