Gran Turismo Limited-Edition PS5 DualSense Controller Available for Preorder

Sony has announced a limited-edition Gran Turismo DualSense controller for the PlayStation 5, available for preorder now. This special edition commemorates the 30th anniversary of the Gran Turismo series, which originally launched on the PS1. The controller is priced at $84.99 and is scheduled to release on December 10.

This controller pays tribute to "The Real Driving Simulator," a moniker associated with the long-running racing franchise developed by Polyphony Digital and led by Kazunori Yamauchi. The design features a textured, carbon-fiber-style front plate, aiming for a sleek and elegant aesthetic. While the controller's promotional materials include prominent red and blue stripes, the actual controller is more subdued. It features black racing stripes vertically across the touchpad, and the face buttons and D-pad arrows are gray-on-black. Subtle touches of color appear above the Gran Turismo branding and on symbols on the touchpad. The grips also incorporate racing imagery, including a circled "30" to mark the anniversary.

Functionally, the controller offers the standard features of the PS5 DualSense, including adaptive triggers with force feedback, haptic feedback, a built-in microphone, and a headset jack. It is compatible with the PS5, as well as PC, Mac, and mobile devices.

Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital Inc., stated, "Thirty years ago, Gran Turismo began with a vision to share the beauty and joy of the automobile. This commemorative controller celebrates the journey we have shared together, and I am deeply grateful to everyone whose passion continues to inspire us."

This Gran Turismo controller is not the only special edition DualSense available for preorder. A Grand Theft Auto 6 limited-edition controller is also available, set to release on November 19, coinciding with the game's launch.
