Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are among the 11 games set to be removed from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in the coming weeks. While a specific removal date has not been announced, the departures coincide with an influx of new titles being added to the service. This move by Sony is likely intended to make space for the new additions and may also be a strategic decision by Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive ahead of the November 19 launch of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Both Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 have a history of rotating in and out of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. Grand Theft Auto 5 was previously added back in November 2025, and Red Dead Redemption 2 returned to the Extra and Premium tiers in May. Given their past appearances, it is probable that these titles will be available again through the subscription service in the future.
Beyond Rockstar's acclaimed open-world titles, other notable games departing the catalog include The Talos Principle 2, a philosophical puzzle adventure that challenges players with existential themes. Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break, a game that blends tower defense mechanics with a distinct visual style reminiscent of Terry Gilliam's animations, is also recommended for those seeking a unique experience.
The full list of games leaving the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog soon is as follows:
- Cricket 24: International Edition
- Earth Defense 4: The Shadow of New Despair
- Football Manager 26
