For the first time in the Grand Theft Auto series, players will be able to listen to radio stations and on-demand podcasts outside of vehicles in Grand Theft Auto 6. These audio features will be accessible through headphones and earbuds connected to in-game smartphones. This expands upon the traditional in-car radio system previously featured in the franchise.
Rockstar Games announced these new features while detailing six of the radio stations that will be featured in the game. These stations appear to be hosted by notable real-world singers and artists. The announced stations include Cocoteo FM, hosted by Bad Bunny and RaiNao; Back Country Radio, hosted by Lana Del Rey, Morgan Wallen, and Jeremy Dufrene; AfroBank FM, hosted by Burna Boy and DJ Palms Trax; The Chamber 106.6, hosted by Kerry King and Tom Araya; Flash FM, hosted by Robyn and Alex Consani; and Dirty South Classics, hosted by Trina and Trick Daddy.
These additions arrive as Grand Theft Auto 6 is slated for release on November 19. The game's development and associated news have coincided with other notable events, including a significant gameplay footage leak and ongoing legal proceedings involving Rockstar Games.
