Rockstar Games has officially announced pricing and preorder details for Grand Theft Auto 6, accompanied by a fresh batch of screenshots and artwork. Analyst Jake Dekker of GameSpot has examined these new assets, uncovering several details that shed light on the game's Leonida setting and narrative.
The $100 Ultimate Edition of Grand Theft Auto 6 will include a pair of unique weapons: the Hawk & Little "Morgan" Revolvers. These revolvers are described as "his and hers," each etched with the name of its owner, suggesting they will be wielded by protagonists Lucia and Jason Duval respectively. The "Morgan" moniker may serve as an Easter egg referencing Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption 2.
Further connections to Rockstar's previous titles are hinted at with the appearance of President Hardin. Previously seen on a $100 bill in GTA Online, Hardin is visible again on currency within Grand Theft Auto 6's newly revealed imagery. The dynamic between Lucia and Jason is also teased, with a screenshot showing the duo together aboard a Shitzu Squalo watercraft. This could indicate moments within the story, and potentially a return to the character-switching mechanics seen in GTA 5, allowing players to transition between protagonists.
One specific detail emerges from the description of the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, mentioning the Paradise Garage location as "a secure place to deposit stolen goods to be fenced." This suggests a potential expansion of the game's theft mechanics beyond simply acquiring cash, possibly allowing players to store and fence larger quantities of stolen items, such as vehicles, with implications for how law enforcement might interact with such hidden stashes.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19.
