Rockstar Games and PlayStation have unveiled a pair of limited edition PlayStation 5 controllers designed to commemorate Grand Theft Auto 6. The announcement was made during the latest PlayStation State of Play broadcast.
These controllers will be available in both white and black. Both feature a core design incorporating the 'VI' logo engraved on the touchpad, with palm tree etchings adorning the controller grips. The Grand Theft Auto logo is also etched onto the back of each controller, and they are finished with a neon purple trim around the lower section.
Pre-orders for the limited edition controllers are scheduled to open on September 10 through PlayStation Direct. However, players will not receive them until the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19. The controllers are priced at $84.99, and are expected to sell out quickly due to high demand for the game.
The reveal of these controllers coincides with an increased marketing push for Grand Theft Auto 6. Last week, Rockstar Games released the first gameplay trailer for the title and hosted previews for select media outlets. After years of extended silence from Rockstar, the game has now officially locked in its November release date.
PlayStation has also stated that Grand Theft Auto 6 will perform best on PS5 and will feature exclusive functionalities on the console. The game is set to utilize the DualSense controller's built-in speaker, haptic feedback, and adaptive triggers, alongside the console's Tempest 3D AudioTech. While the announcement of these controllers might suggest a potential console bundle, no such package has been confirmed by Sony or Rockstar.
