Grand Theft Auto 6 TV Trailer Features Subtle Changes and Omitted Details

Rockstar Games has made slight adjustments to the Grand Theft Auto 6 launch trailer for its television broadcast. Fans have noted differences between the original online version and the commercial airing on networks like NBC.

Trailer Variations

Two versions of the trailer are reportedly being shown on TV. A 30-second spot removes the intimate shower scene featuring protagonists Lucia and Jason and includes some extended gameplay sequences. A longer, 90-second version incorporates the shower scene and other extended moments but omits the "play best on PS5" graphic that appears at the trailer's beginning.

The extended scenes themselves are minor, each lasting only a second or two longer than their original appearance. These include a brief extension to Raul's dancing sequence, a wider shot at the start of an airplane scene as Lucia balances on a car, and a moment where Lucia bends further forward after Jason playfully pushes her against a car.

Promotional Considerations

Similar to the original trailer released online, the TV commercial does not feature an Xbox logo. This is widely believed to be the result of a marketing agreement between Sony and Rockstar Games. The version of the trailer available on the Rockstar Games website does not include the specific "play best on PS5" prompt and displays logos for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, offering an alternative for those seeking to avoid the overt Sony promotion.
