Rockstar Games has provided its most extensive look yet at Grand Theft Auto VI, with a lengthy trailer that showcases a variety of gameplay elements. The footage, captured on PlayStation 5, offers glimpses of story missions, open-world activities, and the dynamic between the game's dual protagonists, Jason and Lucia. Players will have the ability to switch control between both characters.

One of the featured missions sees Jason and Lucia attempting to procure goods from a drug dealer, a transaction that quickly devolves into a large-scale shootout with police. This sequence highlights the game's gunplay, with players utilizing cover and various firearms, including assault rifles and shotguns, while the AI-controlled partner provides support. Another mission involves the pair acting as getaway drivers for a bank robber named Raul Bautista. This scenario emphasizes high-speed chases, evading law enforcement vehicles and helicopters, and culminates in the destruction of the getaway car with a Molotov cocktail to erase evidence.

The trailer also offers a look at the contemporary Vice City setting, with detailed recreations of Miami's complex highway systems and urban landscapes. The user interface remains minimal, similar to previous entries in the series, though the mini-map is depicted with 3D rendered buildings. Smaller character interactions are also showcased, such as selecting items at home and humorous in-game commercials playing on a television.

A mission involving security for a mogul named Andrés during the opening of a Spanish-language media company's headquarters demonstrates a more complex scenario. This segment, described as reminiscent of Die Hard, involves armed intruders, hostage situations, and engaging combat across different floors of a skyscraper. The footage also teases a slow-motion feature for gunfights, though its implementation as a cinematic or gameplay mechanic is not yet clear.

Beyond structured missions, Rockstar demonstrated a wide array of open-world activities available to players. These include fishing, kayaking, base jumping, scuba diving, jet skiing, airboating, and backyard wrestling. Various forms of racing are also presented, such as dirt bike, nighttime street, and stock car challenges. The trailer also featured quirky, emergent gameplay moments, including a police chase involving a car thief who unknowingly took an influencer livestreaming a "lock yourself in a trunk" challenge, complete with a live on-screen chat feed.

Grand Theft Auto VI is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on November 19. While the trailer provides a substantial preview of its content, Rockstar has yet to detail all of the game's specific features, leaving much for players to discover upon release.
