Gamescom Opening Night Live featured the debut trailer for Gravhounds, an upcoming action-builder game from indie developer Octopus Panic. The trailer reveals a science fiction setting where genetically engineered canine "Gravhounds" are sent to explore and colonize alien worlds.
In Gravhounds, players control these human-like dogs as they work to establish resources for a new colony while fending off hostile alien life. The game supports cooperative play for up to four players. Upgrades are presented as a key element for survival, particularly when facing overwhelming alien opposition. The trailer suggests a narrative focus on the Gravhounds' efforts to build a new home and potentially return to their own.
According to Gravhounds' Steam page, the game will launch into early access on November 2 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. This early access period is expected to last at least six months and will feature the core experience, with plans to expand the game's content and replayability leading up to its full 1.0 release. Both solo and co-op campaigns will be available from the start of early access. Gravhounds will also be included with Xbox Game Pass on day one.
