Warner Bros. has adjusted its release schedule, pushing back the animated DC film Dynamic Duo and delaying the upcoming Gremlins movie by one year. The studio is now preparing its slate for 2028, leading to these shifts.
The new Gremlins film, tentatively titled Gremlins 3, was originally slated for November 2027 but will now arrive in theaters on October 6, 2027. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser showing a Gremlin emerging from a backpack with the phrase "Uh oh!" The film is being directed by Chris Columbus, who penned the original Gremlins and directed films such as Home Alone. Columbus has been developing this project for over a decade.
DC's Dynamic Duo, an animated film focusing on the early adventures of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, has also been rescheduled. It was initially set for June 2028 and will now be released on September 22, 2028. This film is described as a hybrid project utilizing traditional CG animation, stop motion, and puppetry to create a distinctive visual style. Matt Reeves and James Gunn are attached as producers. The film appears to be an attempt by DC Studios to replicate the success of the Spider-Verse films by focusing on younger characters with a unique aesthetic.
