Gizmo is set to return to the big screen in the third installment of the Gremlins franchise, though details about the project have been scarce. Warner Bros. has now offered fans their first glimpse of Gremlins 3 with a short teaser, which also brought the unwelcome news of a delayed release date.
This marks the first Gremlins film in over 35 years, with the previous entry, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, premiering in 1990. The backpack then partially opens, revealing Gizmo, who appears as endearing as ever with his signature sleepy smile and large eyes. However, the final moments of the clip reveal that the movie's release has been postponed.
Gremlins 3 is now scheduled to debut on October 6, 2028, a delay of nearly 11 months from its originally planned date. This pushes the film's release into the autumn season, offering a spooky option for moviegoers in the fall of 2028.
