Rockstar Games has announced a collector's set for Grand Theft Auto VI, dubbed the GTA 6: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection. This premium offering is priced at $400 and includes a variety of merchandise inspired by the game's setting, Vice City, but notably does not contain a copy of the game itself.
The collection is available for pre-order now via Rockstar's official website and is slated for release on November 19. It features a range of high-quality items such as a six-inch figure of Macca the Gator, a pair of matte black Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with Prizm Sapphire lenses, and a New Era snapback hat adorned with Vice City embellishments. Additionally, the set includes a Macca the Gator magnetic mirror, a Vice City swizzle spoon, a Vice City razor blade keychain, a Leonida Keys crossbody bag, a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass, an enamel pin set in a custom metal tin, premium stickers, and a double-sided poster of the Leonida landscape.
This release follows a trend seen with past GTA and Red Dead titles, which often included physical maps in their standard editions. It remains unclear if GTA 6's standard edition will include a map, and inquiries have been made to Rockstar for clarification.
The pricing and nature of the collector's set suggest a focus on high-end merchandise. Rockstar's partnership with brands like Oakley indicates an effort to provide durable, quality items. Given the high demand for GTA 6 merchandise, evidenced by the resale prices of T-shirts distributed at Tokyo Game Show, this collector's set is likely to sell out quickly.
Rockstar Games has intensified its marketing efforts for GTA 6 in the months leading up to its launch. Following a period of silence, the game has seen a steady stream of news since pre-orders opened in June. The gameplay reveal in late August was followed by weekly marketing updates, including the introduction of limited edition PS5 controllers and an original music album. The company also recently made a significant promotional statement by installing a "Welcome to Vice City" sign at the Miami Heat's arena, a move reportedly costing nearly $1 million.
While the exact timing of future reveals is unknown, a final trailer before the game's release is anticipated by some, possibly aligning with the start of the NBA regular season in mid-October. The ongoing marketing blitz suggests that Rockstar's promotional campaign for Grand Theft Auto VI is still in its early stages.
