GTA 6 Ultimate Edition Details Hint at Deep Gameplay Systems

Rockstar Games has offered a closer look at Grand Theft Auto VI through the exclusive contents of its Ultimate Edition and pre-order bonuses, unveiling numerous gameplay mechanics and activities that will be present in the upcoming open world. These details suggest a significant expansion of player interaction within Vice City and its surrounding areas.

One of the key revelations points to the introduction of illegal goods fencing. The "Pitt Youngin$" illegal goods store is described as a "Gang Compound," indicating these locations may function as enemy strongholds or outposts that players can raid for contraband. The game will also feature a "secure place to deposit stolen goods to be fenced," suggesting a dedicated business activity for players dealing in illicit wares. This system appears to be integrated with vehicle acquisition, as the '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, an Ultimate Edition exclusive, is stored at a garage that offers this service.

Beyond criminal enterprises, fishing has been hinted at with the Shitzu Squalo boat, described as suitable for "casting in Gambit Bay and reeling in catches of all sorts." Scuba diving equipment also appears on the boat, suggesting a return of underwater exploration. For automotive enthusiasts, the game will feature extensive car customization, with mod shops returning and expanding to include interior modifications. Furthermore, the Ultimate Edition includes a "Special Commission" to track down and restore abandoned classic cars, a feature that could serve as a long-term side quest.

The game will also incorporate deep character customization. Players will be able to modify hairstyles, with Jason also able to sport facial hair and Lucia having her nails painted. Jewelry and clothing choices will extend to minute details. Tattoo parlors, such as the Ultimate Edition exclusive "Electric Fang Tattoo," will offer custom designs created in collaboration with real-world artists. Players can also acquire apparel inspired by in-game media, such as the television show "Macca the Gator."

Safehouses will return, offering familiar save and sleep options, and potentially housing new mechanics like weapon lockers. The Vercetti Estate, a notable location from the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, is confirmed to be present, with its name referenced in connection with the sourcing of Ultimate Edition exclusive revolvers. These revolvers, along with other personalized semi-automatic pistols, highlight a granular level of weapon customization, suggesting players can create unique loadouts tailored to specific situations.

Pre-order bonuses include the "Vintage Vice City" pack, featuring the '55 Vapid Stanier, a callback to the 1980s original, which also includes a place to fence stolen goods. This pack also includes a weapon pattern inspired by Tommy Vercetti's iconic Hawaiian shirt. Even in-game currency will feature nods to the past, with dollar bills depicting President Hardin, a figure from Red Dead Redemption 2, suggesting a potential connection between the universes or at least a shared Easter egg.

These details, revealed ahead of the game's November 19 release date, indicate Grand Theft Auto VI will offer a vast array of activities and deep simulation elements, expanding on the series' established formula.
