Scalpers are actively reselling Grand Theft Auto 6-themed DualSense controllers on eBay for inflated prices, mirroring the scarcity issues seen with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles at their launch. While the controllers are not yet sold out, their aftermarket value has already surged past their suggested retail price of $84.
Listings on eBay show average sale prices around $140 per controller, with the white limited-edition model already out of stock. These sales are occurring despite eBay's terms of service, which require presale listings to guarantee shipment within 40 business days. The GTA 6 DualSense controllers are set to begin shipping on November 19, coinciding with the game's launch day, placing these presale listings well outside eBay's stipulated timeframe. Enforcement of these rules appears lax, as these sales are proceeding.
The new DualSense controllers feature distinctive designs, including a shimmering, color-shifting finish and palm tree motifs integrated into the controller's body. These hardware releases benefit from the considerable hype surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6 ahead of its November release.
Sony has previously released limited-edition console variants for its other major titles, such as the PlayStation 5 consoles inspired by Marvel's Wolverine. However, a limited-edition GTA 6-themed PS5 console has not yet been announced.
