Grand Theft Auto 6 enthusiasts are convinced they have found the real-world inspiration for the Vice City apartment inhabited by protagonists Jason and Lucia. This discovery comes shortly after Rockstar Games released an extended gameplay trailer showcasing the setting.
An Instagram user,
prettyboycuh, first shared their findings, detailing how they used Google Maps to locate a tall teal building visible in the recent trailer. While initially finding only a patch of grass at the supposed apartment's location using the Street View function, they then adjusted the map's historical data. By changing the time period from March 2026 to April 2013, the apartment building reappeared.
Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed the building, known as the Belmar Condominium, as the basis for the location in GTA 6. However, the visual parallels are striking: the building's color, surrounding structures, and even the parking lot from which Jason departs in the trailer align closely with the real-life site. This discovery was replicated by IGN. The building remained visible on Google Maps, having been repainted from its original salmon color to darker grays sometime between 2013 and 2017, and continued to appear in map data until 2022. A 2024 recording indicates the location has since been demolished.
Further investigation by prettyboycuh uncovered a South Florida Business Journal report confirming the sale of The Belmar Condo for $12 million in 2022. The report also stated the building was erected in 1973 and subsequently demolished after the sale. This means that GTA 6 fans hoping to visit a tangible representation of Jason and Lucia's living space will unfortunately be unable to.
Despite its demolition, the location remains accessible through archived Google Maps data. Prettyboycuh also noted that Rockstar's attention to detail extended to the interior of the apartment, with archived Zillow listings suggesting the developers meticulously recreated the in-game space based on real-life interior layouts. Brief glimpses of Jason interacting with his environment within the apartment in the trailer appear to closely mirror these details.
Last week's extensive GTA 6 trailer provided players with approximately 27 minutes of in-game footage. The community's dedication to uncovering details, as demonstrated by this apartment discovery, suggests intense speculation will continue leading up to the game's launch. Grand Theft Auto 6 is slated for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
