A user on GTAForums, going by the handle Vice Cit, has conducted a detailed investigation into the financial activities of the individual claiming to be responsible for the recent Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks. The leaker, who uses the moniker "Cyberleek," has been releasing footage of the highly anticipated game, ostensibly as a protest against Rockstar Games' digital release strategies. However, Vice Cit's analysis posits that this narrative of gamer rights advocacy is a misdirection, intended to garner public support while the leaker profits from a custom cryptocurrency.

Cyberleek has reportedly created a cryptocurrency named $CYBERLEEK, which is promoted alongside each new leak. According to Vice Cit's findings, Cyberleek invested approximately $29,000 into the creation of this coin. While direct sales of the coin may not be the profit mechanism, a transaction fee is applied to every purchase, with a portion of these fees directly benefiting the creator. This fee structure, Vice Cit suggests, has already allowed the leaker to recoup their initial investment and is generating several thousand dollars daily.

Further complicating the situation, the leaker allegedly holds 270 million $CYBERLEEK tokens in a separate, private wallet. At the time of Vice Cit's post, these tokens were valued at around $391,000. While selling these tokens gradually could mitigate market disruption, Vice Cit speculates that a larger strategy may be in play regarding their ultimate use.

This financial incentive structure, Vice Cit argues, likely drives Cyberleek's continued and steady release of leaked material, aiming to maintain interest in the $CYBERLEEK coin. However, the leaker's activities may soon be curtailed. Vice Cit claims to have traced the coin's creation wallet to a KuCoin account. KuCoin's policy allows law enforcement, with a valid subpoena, to obtain identity information for account holders. Given that Take-Two, Rockstar's parent company, is already seeking user records from platforms like Discord and Microsoft in relation to the leaks, further subpoenas to cryptocurrency exchanges appear probable if the leaker's digital trail remains as traceable as Vice Cit suggests.

The urgency for Take-Two to resolve the leak situation is amplified by the upcoming official reveal of Grand Theft Auto 6 on Netflix. The leaker's actions could undermine this planned unveiling. The financial gains realized from the cryptocurrency may ultimately prove insufficient to cover potential legal costs should they be identified and prosecuted.
