Grand Theft Auto 6 is once again the subject of widespread leaks, with the individual responsible claiming to have "full access" to the highly anticipated title. Rockstar Games is reportedly struggling to prevent further gameplay videos from surfacing, even after a temporary halt overnight. A new account, under the name CyberLeek, has emerged following the suspension of a previous one, continuing the release of what appear to be authentic GTA 6 clips.
Four distinct videos have been leaked, with the latest showcasing a biplane soaring over a sprawling, detailed cityscape, presumed to be Vice City. The footage depicts towering skyscrapers, intricate highway systems, and densely populated roads, with the in-game radio audible on the plane. The video concludes with the game's co-protagonist, Jason, firing a rifle at a wall, creating bullet holes that spell out the word "leek," a clear nod to the leaker's alias and possibly indicating they are the one playing the game in the footage.
Earlier leaks from the previous day included a passenger plane taking off from an airport amidst blaring sirens, suggesting the player had acquired a high wanted level, and a helicopter navigating over a marshland area resembling Florida's Everglades. The authenticity and recency of these videos remain unconfirmed, but their unedited nature and the inclusion of the "leek" message strongly suggest they originate from direct gameplay rather than official trailers, such as the upcoming "extended look" set to debut on Netflix.
The leaker has stated their motivation stems from backlash against GTA 6 not being released on a game disc and Rockstar's perceived strategy of offering substantial exclusive in-game content with the pricier Ultimate Edition. Additionally, the leaker is reportedly profiting from these leaks through cryptocurrency donations. This financial aspect has drawn criticism from consumer rights organizations like Stop Killing Games, which has urged the public not to support "illegal acts" by sending money to the individuals involved.
