Infamous Grand Theft Auto 6 leaker known as Cyberleek has announced the end of their website and seemingly their campaign of sharing leaked gameplay, stating that "The leeks stop for now." In a message posted on their now-offline site, Cyberleek declared they would not release a full build of the game publicly, nor would they share any additional leaks. They also denied accusations that their operation was a cryptocurrency scam.
Cyberleek explained that while they possessed the game's ending, they chose not to release it to avoid "ruin[ing] the experience for the gamers, who did nothing wrong." The leaker stated that while this decision would "punish Take-Two greatly," they believed the publisher had already been sufficiently punished. They claimed to have shared clips from the final missions out of context, which revealed nothing significant.
Despite these pronouncements, Cyberleek issued a warning that story spoilers still remained, and alleged that their "removal" would trigger a dead man's switch, releasing all remaining leaks online. The leaker also reiterated their claim of possessing a full build of GTA 6, but stated it would not be uploaded because their associated cryptocurrency did not reach the $30 million valuation they had set. They asserted that uploading such a large file anonymously was a significant risk, only justifiable if the milestone funded a secret project, and that the terms were honored as written.
Addressing accusations of a rug pull, Cyberleek vehemently denied the claims, asserting that their cryptocurrency sales were for "trading fees only, as always announced." They stated that the first sale caused a cascade, with others selling and blaming Cyberleek for the subsequent market dump. The leaker pointed to the public blockchain as proof of their transactions and claimed the token was always intended as a donation, not an investment, with no returns promised or implied. Cyberleek criticized those suggesting they lacked access to the game or that it was a scam, particularly singling out YouTubers, and urged people not to trust them.
"Sad, the negativity – and how few believe anything real is behind this," the leaker posted, adding that they were transparent about the token's nature from day one. "The Edict stands. The leeks stop here. For now."
Cyberleek initially began sharing leaked gameplay footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 in August, providing early glimpses of the game in action. These leaks appeared to cease around the time Rockstar Games released an official gameplay trailer. However, Cyberleek resurfaced earlier this month with new leaked gameplay that notably featured protagonists Lucia and Jason in a state of undress.
