GTA 6 Leaker Demands $30 Million or Full Game Build Release

The individual known as 'Cyberleek,' responsible for leaking early footage of Grand Theft Auto 6, has resurfaced with a new ultimatum for Rockstar Games. According to a recent statement, Cyberleek threatens to release the entire game build if their associated meme coin reaches a market capitalization of $30 million. As an alternative, Cyberleek proposed that Rockstar and Take-Two release a disc-based version of the game and issue a public apology to halt the potential leak.

This latest development follows a period of silence from Cyberleek after withdrawing approximately $250,000 worth of their meme coin in late August, an action that coincided with the coin's market crash. The earlier leaks included extensive gameplay footage, some of which appeared to utilize a debug mode, and even a scene featuring the character Jason without clothing. These leaks had fueled speculation about the authenticity of Cyberleek's access to a working build of the game.

Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two Interactive, had previously taken legal action, subpoenaing Discord and Microsoft in August to obtain user records related to the distribution of the leaked gameplay videos. Updates on the progress of this investigation have not yet been provided. Fans had also attempted to identify the individual behind the leaks, but these efforts reportedly subsided as the leaks temporarily ceased.

With Grand Theft Auto 6 slated for release in just over a month, this new threat could represent either a final attempt by Cyberleek to gain notoriety and financial gain, or a more significant data breach with potentially severe consequences for Rockstar. The motivations behind Cyberleek's actions remain unclear, with speculation ranging from financial opportunism to a genuine desire to protest perceived anti-consumer practices in the game industry, as suggested by an earlier manifesto from the leaker.
