The individual behind the recent Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks, operating under the name Cyberleek, has reportedly pulled off a cryptocurrency rug pull, cashing out over $200,000. This move follows their use of illicitly obtained GTA 6 gameplay footage to promote and trade a cryptocurrency token named $CYBERLEEK, minted on the Solana blockchain.
Cyberleek initially positioned the cryptocurrency as a means for users to vote on the subject of future leaks, claiming the funds would support a "secret project" aimed at combating corporate interests and ensuring security. However, as Take-Two Interactive intensified its legal pursuit, Cyberleek's appeals for support grew more desperate, leading to widespread skepticism.
This skepticism proved warranted. Transactions initiated early this morning, around 3:27 AM EDT, saw a significant withdrawal from the $CYBERLEEK liquidity pool. One trader reportedly earned an estimated $270,000, while the token's value plummeted by approximately 40% for other holders. The user Vice Cit on Gtaforums.com first noted these transactions.
The $CYBERLEEK token was minted 12 days ago. Its creator, presumably Cyberleek, then established a liquidity pool on the Raydium platform, depositing the initial token supply and other cryptocurrencies. As users traded $CYBERLEEK through this pool, transaction fees were generated and accumulated by the liquidity provider. Early this morning, the walletholder who initially created the token collected these accrued fees, estimated to be over $200,000 in $CYBERLEEK. This sum was then immediately exchanged for other cryptocurrencies and moved to various wallets, effectively dissolving the value for remaining $CYBERLEEK holders.
