The individual known as Cyberleek, who claims to have access to an unreleased build of Grand Theft Auto 6, is continuing their attempt to leverage this into a cryptocurrency scheme. Initially, Cyberleek threatened to leak the entire game if the market capitalization of their meme coin, $Cyberleek, reached $30 million. This strategy saw some initial traction, with the coin peaking at over $4.75 million after the account reportedly "ransomed off Lucia nudes."
Cyberleek recently outlined a "roadmap" of alleged future leaks contingent on the coin's market cap. These planned releases include in-game elements such as a mini-tank at $5 million, a full tank at $9 million, a police shootout at $13 million, a fighter jet at $21 million, a train vs. train encounter at $25 million, and finally, the complete 200GB+ playable build at $30 million.
However, the $Cyberleek cryptocurrency has experienced a sharp downturn, plummeting 50 percent in the past 24 hours and dropping its market cap to approximately $2.2 million. This crash significantly hinders Cyberleek's ability to reach the outlined milestones, particularly the release of the full game build.
While Cyberleek has asserted that the scheme is a protest against anti-consumer practices in the gaming industry, specifically demanding a disc version of GTA 6 from Take-Two, the surrounding actions have cast doubt on this motivation. With the official launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 now just over a month away, interest in further leaked gameplay footage, especially material that fans may have already seen, appears to be waning. It remains unclear if Take-Two and Rockstar Games are any closer to identifying the individual behind the Cyberleek account.
