Preorder numbers for Grand Theft Auto VI have reached "unprecedented" levels across the gaming industry, according to Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick. Speaking during a recent earnings call, Zelnick described the demand as "astonishing" and unlike anything he had witnessed previously at Take-Two or in the wider industry.

Despite the strong preorder figures, Zelnick cautioned that early demand does not always translate directly into final sales, noting that preorders can be canceled. He declined to offer specific sales projections but expressed enthusiasm for the current situation, calling the news "great so far" while maintaining a stance of "cautiously optimistic" ahead of the game's release.

Take-Two recently affirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI remains on track for its November 19 release date, with no further delays. The company also addressed the game's $80 price point, deeming it "phenomenal value."
