This marks a notable expansion from previous entries, where drug use was typically limited to specific contexts or player-owned spaces.
The PEGI listing, shared before its removal from the Pan European Game Information board's website, indicated that "cocaine can be carried around by the player and snorted directly from their hand at any time." This level of accessible drug use by protagonists appears to be a new addition to the series, contrasting with the more restricted interactions seen in titles like GTA 5 and GTA Online.
Mature Content Beyond Drug Use
In addition to drug use, the rating confirmed earlier suggestions that GTA 6 will be the first game in the franchise to explicitly depict sex scenes. The description noted "strong sexual themes, including nudity, scenes of intercourse and occasional scenes of sexual fetishes."
