Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature a single-player experience at its November 19 launch, Rockstar Games has confirmed. The developer has stated that the game will not include its online multiplayer component at release, a strategy similar to Grand Theft Auto 5, which initially launched without GTA Online in 2013.
While the physical edition of Grand Theft Auto 6 will contain a download code, an internet connection will still be required to play the game. The exact form and functionality of a future GTA Online component for Grand Theft Auto 6 remain unclear. Preorders for the game, which open on June 25, will include a complimentary month of GTA+, which offers content for GTA Online.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to be priced at $80 for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. An Ultimate Edition will also be available for $100, featuring additional content such as expanded story missions. Rockstar has stated that GTA+ is "the best way to get the most out of its ever-evolving world," though its relevance to future Grand Theft Auto 6 online content is yet to be determined.
