Rockstar Games' recent extensive gameplay trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 has provided fans with a wealth of new details, including a significant number of vehicles. Dedicated community members have already identified over 270 distinct vehicles across trailers and screenshots released since 2023, a figure that surpasses the number of vehicles present in Grand Theft Auto 5 at its launch.
These findings, cataloged by fan-made sites like GTA Base, encompass a wide variety of transportation, including cars, trucks, airplanes, motorcycles, scooters, and boats. According to their data, as of September 1, 272 vehicles have been documented. Of these, over 90 are noted as new additions to the series, while the remainder are returning from previous titles, primarily Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto 4.
To provide context, previous single-player entries in the franchise featured fewer vehicles. Grand Theft Auto 3 included 56 vehicles, Grand Theft Auto Vice City had 102, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas featured 189, and Grand Theft Auto 4 and its DLC contained 177. Grand Theft Auto 5 launched with 252 vehicles.
While Grand Theft Auto 6 has not yet been released, the number of vehicles identified in its promotional material already exceeds the launch count of its predecessor. It is important to note that Grand Theft Auto Online, through years of updates, now boasts over 800 vehicles, though not all are actively drivable or available in the game. The current count for Grand Theft Auto 6, however, is significant for an unreleased title and highlights the scale of Rockstar's upcoming open world.
The GTA 6 gameplay trailer, released last week, offered a nearly 30-minute look at the game's world, showcasing numerous vehicles in action. With the game slated for a November release, it is likely that more vehicles will be revealed before launch, further expanding the already impressive roster documented by the community.
