Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto Online's next major content update, titled The Kortz Center Heist, will launch on July 14. This update will introduce a new heist centered around robbing the prestigious Kort Center art museum.
Players will utilize a new art studio as a preparation room for the heist, engaging in a series of setup missions before the main event. As is typical with GTA Online heists, there will be an option to approach the robbery with stealth or to go in aggressively. Completing the heist without raising alarms will result in a significantly larger monetary reward.
Beyond the heist itself, players will be able to acquire paintings and display them within their in-game mansions. New paintings will be added weekly, aiming to encourage repeat playthroughs. These collectibles are not merely decorative; they serve as references to other titles developed by Rockstar Games. Some eagle-eyed fans have already identified paintings that appear to reference specific moments from Rockstar's past games, including a scene depicting Roman's death from Grand Theft Auto IV, a painting in the style of Red Dead Redemption, and another featuring a crowd of iconic Rockstar characters like CJ from San Andreas and Dutch from Red Dead Redemption.
The Kortz Center Heist update will also introduce new vehicles for players to purchase, with more details expected to be revealed closer to the release date. Players are advised to begin assembling their crews and preparing to invest in the necessary setup missions.
This update may also be among the final major content drops for GTA Online before the release of Grand Theft Auto VI. While GTA Online typically receives updates in the summer and December, GTA VI is slated for a November release. It is possible Rockstar will continue to support GTA Online for a period after GTA VI's launch, especially as the latter title has not yet detailed any online component, though one is widely expected.
