A significant update to the fan-made SilentPatch for Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas has been released, introducing over 100 new fixes and restoring previously inaccessible content, including a substantial amount of cut dialogue for San Andreas. The patch addresses numerous issues stemming from the PC ports of the original trilogy, which were notoriously plagued by bugs and a general lack of polish.

One of the most notable additions is the restoration of approximately 100 voice lines for GTA San Andreas. Some of these lines were bugged and would only trigger under specific conditions, such as CJ's dialogue when shooting at enemies, which was restricted to controller input. This update ensures these lines now function correctly when using a mouse and keyboard.

Beyond the player character, many other lines of dialogue have been reinstated across the games. Pedestrians will now engage in conversations about the weather, criminals have distinct lines for fleeing, CJ has unique dialogue for capturing specific neighborhoods, and interactions with sex workers have more variety. The patch also adds more gang taunts, enables police to announce when they have a target surrounded or require covering fire, includes a specific grunt for being hit with paint, and provides shopkeepers with more lines for robbery scenarios. The Ammu-Nation vendor, for instance, now has over fifteen previously unused voice lines for such events.

The improvements extend beyond audio. Lens flares and heat haze effects now scale correctly with different resolutions. NPCs can utilize sniper rifles and RPGs more effectively, and police will no longer adopt a "gangsta-style" shooting posture. Birds will spawn appropriately, roadblocks will be oriented correctly, and the game will no longer crash when a boat is placed in a garage.

Specific visual bugs, like the sky turning red at 8 p.m. during rain in San Andreas or an incorrect plane spawning in Fort Carson causing an explosion, have also been fixed. In GTA III, street gangsters now move in formation instead of meandering and freezing, a problem that persisted even in the original PlayStation 2 version. The SilentPatch, already considered essential for addressing fundamental issues like broken mouselook, is now even more comprehensive with this latest update.
