Eschatology Entertainment and publisher 4Divinity have unveiled Guns of Eschaton, a soulslike first-person shooter set in an occult-infused American Wild West.

The game casts players as a multi-armed gunslinger navigating an apocalyptic frontier. Despite its FPS perspective, Guns of Eschaton emphasizes deliberate, challenging combat mechanics characteristic of soulslike titles. Players will engage enemies with a diverse range of firearms and specialized ammunition, where precision is paramount. Defensive options include parrying incoming attacks and precise dashing to evade danger.

Player customization is a key feature, with Eschatology Entertainment promising "flexible buildcrafting" to accommodate various playstyles. This system allows for the equipping of armor, talismans, and consumables, alongside active and passive abilities. The game also features a Codex that can be used to study enemies and discover their weaknesses. Guns of Eschaton can be experienced solo or with online co-op support.

A Visionary Art Direction

The distinctive art direction of Guns of Eschaton, which merges 19th-century Americana with elements of occult horror, was envisioned by the late Viktor Antonov. Antonov, who passed away in 2025, was a renowned art director, having previously shaped the visual identities of acclaimed titles such as Half-Life 2 and Dishonored.

"We are incredibly honoured to be revealing Guns of Eschaton, the final project shaped by the extraordinary vision of Viktor Antonov," stated Fuad Kuliev, studio head at Eschatology Entertainment, in a press release. Kuliev added that he had the opportunity to collaborate with Antonov from the early stages of development, shaping the game's world and concepts through the artist's talent. Antonov's legacy has served as a continuous source of inspiration for the development team.

Guns of Eschaton is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A specific release window has not yet been announced.
