Guns of Eschaton, the debut title from Eschatology Entertainment and the final project of the late Half-Life 2 and Dishonored art director Viktor Antonov, has been formally revealed. Antonov co-founded the studio in 2022, and the game is described as the world's first soulslike FPS. Antonov passed away in early 2025 at the age of 53.

The game transports players to a Wild West-inspired world that is depicted as dying and infused with fantastical, Soulsian elements. Despite its Western setting, the game features large, urban, industrial spaces and imposing brutalist architecture, echoing Antonov's previous visual design work. The developers have introduced a grimdark aesthetic to the frontier, populated by distinct creatures and antagonists, complemented by expansive prairie landscapes and striking skyboxes.

While specific details on gunplay are limited, the firearms are inspired by 19th-century American weaponry. The game incorporates mechanics such as an "Ultra Kill" system where players shoot a coin into an enemy. According to the game's Steam page, Guns of Eschaton is not designed as a fast-paced shooter reliant solely on reflexes. The developers emphasize that "Every bullet matters. Every gun has its own character. Every monster has a weakness," suggesting players cannot rely on instincts developed from other shooter titles. The game supports both solo and co-op play, with an added PvP option.

The setting appears to be a transformed version of America's South, now a haunted frontier filled with ruined settlements, mythic roads, impossible machines, monstrous factions, and historical figures caught between legend and damnation. The developers have yet to announce a release date for Guns of Eschaton.
