A minigame that allowed players in the asymmetrical multiplayer title, Halloween: The Game, to engage in sexual activity within a closet for in-game buffs has reportedly been removed from the game. The feature appeared during a brief early access period for the game's deluxe edition but was seemingly patched out without explicit mention in the update notes.

Players have expressed their dissatisfaction across social media platforms and the game's Steam forums. Many are calling for the feature's return, with some users repeatedly commenting on forum threads with "ADD BACK THE CLOSET MINIGAME." The removal also impacted certain playable civilian characters, such as Lynda, who previously received additional benefits from participating in the minigame; this trait has since been removed for her.

Speculation among the player base suggests a potential reason for the feature's removal may be related to the game's mechanics involving player respawns. In Halloween: The Game, "dead" players can respawn as older characters, including figures like Dr. Loomis or even Michael Myers himself. Concerns have been raised that if these characters can solicit sexual activity, it creates a disturbing scenario when the game's depiction of Laurie Strode, a high school student, is only 17 years old. While the developer, Illfonic, has not officially confirmed this as the reason for the patch, it is a widely discussed possibility.

This development has led to some players jokingly noting that closet sex might become a time-limited pre-order bonus. The publication has reached out to Illfonic for comment and will update the story should a response be received.
