Halloween: The Game Adds Infamous Michael Myers Mask as $10 DLC

Illfonic is expanding Halloween: The Game with new content, including a paid DLC skin for Michael Myers based on his appearance in Halloween 5. The developer announced on October 5 that this cosmetic item, along with other paid and free updates, will be available on October 27.

This new Michael Myers skin will cost $10. The mask from Halloween 5 has been a point of contention among fans for years, with many criticizing its elongated and more defined features, which they argue make the killer appear less frightening and more unusual. A free map inspired by the farm setting from Halloween 5 will also be added to the game.

In addition to the Halloween 5 mask, a second Michael Myers skin based on his look in the 2018 film will also be released for $10. Beyond these character skins, a DLC civilian pack priced at $10 will introduce two new playable survivors, Michelle and Eugene. Furthermore, a Halloween costume pack for civilians, featuring 14 outfits with color variants for each character, will also be available for $10.

While the game itself is described as a solid asymmetrical horror experience that has seen improvements through recent patches and balance adjustments, the pricing of the new cosmetic items has drawn some criticism. A $10 price point for a single character skin is considered steep by some, though the article notes this aligns with current trends in other live-service games where skins can often exceed $15.
