Less than a week after Halo: Campaign Evolved became available, modders have already begun releasing modifications for the game. Among these early creations are a mod that aims to enable previously hidden split-screen co-op functionality and another that replaces Cortana's dialogue with lines from the original Halo: Combat Evolved, both of which utilize AI tools like Claude and OpenAI Codex.

Beyond AI-assisted modifications, a more traditional humor-focused mod has emerged. Dubbed "Halo - Chipmunk Edition," this mod, created by Omniscye, pitch-shifts the voices of nearly every character in the game. According to its description, approximately 15,391 English dialogue files have been altered to achieve this chipmunk effect. The modder is also reportedly working on a separate modification that replaces all Covenant grunts with Lieutenant Williams.

The "Chipmunk Edition" is presented as a purely manual joke mod, developed without the use of AI, distinguishing it from some other early modifications. The creator's previous modding work, which includes a Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 mod featuring a shield shaped like a woman's backside and another titled "Washing Machines of Bohemia," suggests a penchant for humorous and unconventional creations.

In addition to voice alterations, other mods for Halo: Campaign Evolved are surfacing, including one that unlocks hidden in-game skins. However, none of these appear to offer cosmetic options inspired by the famous chipmunks Alvin, Simon, or Theodore.
