Halo: Campaign Evolved is set to receive a substantial patch next week, aiming to resolve several prominent issues that have surfaced since the game's launch. The update is scheduled to arrive between August 17th and August 21st, though a specific release date has not yet been announced.

The forthcoming patch will introduce five main improvements. Players will benefit from enhanced AI behavior for Sgt. Johnson, which should prevent instances of blocked mission progression. Additionally, Jackal enemies will become more susceptible to staggering when players target their hands and feet. Marines and Flood Marines will now fire their Assault Rifles when the Magnified Skull is active. A highly requested feature is the addition of options to disable Chromatic Aberration and Film Grain, offering players more visual control. The update also includes broader stability enhancements across all platforms.

It is important for players to note that any mid-mission save data will become invalid once the patch is deployed. This means progress made in the current game session might be lost, a detail particularly relevant for those attempting difficult, lengthy playthroughs.

Despite receiving positive reviews, Halo: Campaign Evolved has reportedly underperformed in sales on PS5. Reports indicate that ports of Black Ops 1 and 2 significantly outsold the title. Series co-creator Marcus Lehto has previously shared his thoughts on the game's altered art style, a sentiment that resonates with observations regarding changes to certain level designs.

Following the game's release, the studio experienced layoffs, a move that aligns with broader workforce reductions within the Xbox division. Nevertheless, Halo Studios appears poised to continue development, with a potential remake of Halo 2 hinted at in Campaign Evolved's conclusion.
