Players exploring the campaign modes of Halo: Campaign Evolved now have the option to experience the game from a third-person perspective. This functionality is unlocked by finding and activating a specific skull modifier, known as the "Perspective" skull.
The Perspective skull can be acquired early in the game. Following the cutscene where players meet Captain Keyes on the bridge of the Pillar of Autumn, the skull can be found by heading behind Keyes to the front cockpit area and dropping into the space below. For those who have already completed the initial mission, loading Rally Point Bravo will also place players post-cutscene, with the skull accessible.
Once the Perspective skull has been collected, it must be enabled. This requires starting a new game or loading a recent mission or rally point and then selecting the "Perspective" option within the skull menu before launching the game.
The third-person view places the player character relatively close to the shoulder, offering a different way to navigate the game's environments, particularly indoors. When using scoped weapons, the game automatically reverts to a first-person view to maintain aiming precision. This ensures that tactical shooting elements remain consistent with the original gameplay experience, even when the overall perspective is altered.
