Hasbro has announced a multiyear licensing agreement with Nintendo to produce merchandise based on The Legend of Zelda franchise. The partnership is slated to begin in 2027, but fans will get a sneak peek at San Diego Comic-Con this month with the unveiling of three six-inch-scale figures.

While specific details and images of these initial figures have not yet been released, the timing of the 2027 launch and the Comic-Con reveal have led to speculation that Hasbro's toy line will tie into the upcoming live-action The Legend of Zelda film. The film, a joint production between Sony Pictures and Nintendo, features Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Zelda, and is directed by Wes Ball. It was filmed in New Zealand, a location also used for Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings franchise.

Hasbro executive Billy Lagor expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "By combining Nintendo’s iconic storytelling with Hasbro’s leadership in action and role-play, we’re delivering toys that invite fans to play, explore and forge their own epic adventures." The financial terms of the partnership between Hasbro and Nintendo remain undisclosed.

Separately, Nintendo is also partnering with The Rizzler for a gaming event at Comic-Con. The company has also indicated that a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is planned for release on the Switch 2 later this year.
