HBO's upcoming animated series, My Adventures with Green Lantern, will feature a 10-episode first season, according to DC Studios co-lead Peter Safran. The show, which spun off from My Adventures with Superman, is currently in production, with the team reviewing animatics and animation.
Safran confirmed the episode count in an interview with Collider, noting that the series will share a similar tone with its predecessor, though its themes will differ due to its focus on the Green Lantern characters. The series will follow Jessica Cruz as she navigates her new role as a hero while attending Hal Jordan Memorial High. The show is expected to incorporate elements of magical girl anime, drawing inspiration from titles like Sailor Moon, and will feature other notable Green Lantern characters such as Kyle Rayner and Kilowog. Auliʻi Cravalho, known for her role in Moana, will voice Jessica Cruz.
The future of My Adventures with Superman remains uncertain. Safran stated that the series' continuation is currently "up in the air." While the show's creative team incorporated plans for a potential fourth season into the conclusion of its third season, no renewal has been announced. The development of My Adventures with Green Lantern means that any potential return for My Adventures with Superman would likely be delayed.
