Helen Mirren is eager to reprise her role as Magdalene "Queenie" Shaw in the upcoming final installment of the Fast & Furious saga, tentatively titled Fast Forever. The actress, who has appeared in four previous films, expressed her hope of being included in the franchise's conclusion.
Mirren, who joined the series in 2017's The Fate of the Furious, stated, "Oh, in my dreams." She noted that Vin Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto, has been "incredibly kind" and has given her opportunities to be part of the franchise.
Her initial involvement stemmed from a chance encounter with Diesel at a party, where she famously "begged him to find a part" for her. Despite her brief appearances, Mirren's enthusiasm for the role and the franchise remains strong.
Fast Forever is slated for a 2028 release, with Vin Diesel having previously indicated it will be the final film in the main series. A related Peacock TV show is also expected in 2028. Fans are anticipating the return of many popular characters, and Mirren's potential reappearance as Queenie Shaw, mother to Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), is a prospect she clearly shares.
As the franchise heads towards its conclusion, following the cliffhanger ending of Fast X, Mirren's expressed desire suggests that if scheduling and plot allow, fans may indeed see Queenie Shaw back behind the wheel for one last ride.
