Sony will add the popular cooperative shooter Helldivers 2 to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for Extra and Premium subscribers in August. Developer Arrowhead confirmed the game's inclusion, which will be available starting August 12. This timing aligns with a new community challenge for players: collectively eliminate 500 million enemies by August 18 to unlock four Helldiver PlayStation avatars.
Alongside its arrival on PlayStation Plus, Helldivers 2 is also releasing a new expansion titled Devoid of Liberty. This content will task players with venturing into the Void to destroy Illuminate spires and gateways, confront new enemy types, and achieve new ranks. The new titles are expected to be added to the Game Catalog in batches throughout the month.
PlayStation Plus subscribers also have until August 18 to claim nine games that will be removed from the service, including Dead Island 2, Harold Halibut, and Unicorn Overlord. Currently, three titles are available across all PlayStation Plus tiers: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, For the King 2, and CrossCode.
