Arrowhead has fully revealed the Helldivers 2 x Warhammer 40,000 Castellan's Creed Legendary Warbond, detailing the new weapons and armor available to players. The crossover content launched on August 12.

The Warbond is inspired by the Astra Militarum regiment, the Cadian Kasrkin, and aims to bring the grim-dark aesthetic of Warhammer 40,000 to Helldivers 2's ongoing galactic war. Developer Arrowhead stated that the new items are in honor of the "valiant Helldivers who gave their lives in a heroic last stand to defend the peaceful world of Chara during the First Galactic War," referencing the destruction of the planet Cadia in Warhammer 40,000 lore.

New armaments include the R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle, described as a precise weapon for both close and long-range engagements. The P/40-K Bolt Pistol, a versatile sidearm with significant stopping power, has also been added. For stratagems, players can now deploy the 40-K Meltagun, a short-ranged weapon designed to reduce targets to slag. The G/40-K Meltamine, a proximity-activated burst mine, offers a dangerous area denial option.

Armor sets introduced with the Warbond include the TG-8 Sharpshooter Medium Armor and the TG-122 Demo-Trooper Heavy Armor. Both feature the "True Grit" passive, which grants +20 weapon handling and +30% reload speed for support weapons. The TG-8 is characterized as armor for obedience, while the TG-122 is presented as a historically significant set built for enduring harsh warzones.

Additional cosmetic items include the Camo Cloak and City Fighter's Resolve capes, the Still Standing title, and the Castellan’s Green pattern. The Castellan's Creed Warbond cannot be acquired using a Premium Warbond token.

The crossover has been a long-anticipated one, with fans noting the thematic similarities between Helldivers 2's alien factions and those found in Warhammer 40,000, such as the Terminids resembling Tyranids and the Automatons drawing parallels to Necrons. Developers at Arrowhead have previously expressed enthusiasm for a potential Warhammer 40,000 collaboration, with discussions and internal proposals being ongoing for some time. Johan Pilestedt, a director at Arrowhead, had previously listed Warhammer 40,000 among other desired IPs for potential collaborations.
