Helldivers 2 is set to receive a significant crossover event with Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 universe. The upcoming content, titled the "Castellan's Creed" Legendary Warbond, is scheduled for release on August 12.
This collaboration will bring armor and weaponry directly inspired by the Imperium's Cadian Kasrkin units into the game. Players can expect new firearms, including the Hot-shot Marksman Rifle for mid-to-long range engagements and the Bolt Pistol as a secondary option. A new throwable trap, the Meltamine, and a stratagem featuring the Meltagun capable of damaging vehicles are also part of the update.
Defensive gear will include the TG-8 Sharpshooter medium armor, which features the "True Grit" passive, granting improved weapon handling and faster reload speeds for support weapons. A similar passive will be present on the TG-122 Demo-Trooper heavy armor set. The update will also introduce cosmetic items such as new patterns for vehicles like the FRV buggy and exo suit, alongside new player banners, capes, and titles.
Notably absent from this crossover are the iconic Space Marines, a decision likely made to maintain narrative consistency given the frequent casualties sustained by Helldivers. The pricing for the "Castellan's Creed" Warbond has not been officially confirmed, but previous Legendary Warbonds, such as the Halo ODST-themed one, have cost 1500 Super Credits. The game's developer, Arrowhead Game Studios, has maintained a steady player base since its launch, with significant spikes in activity coinciding with major content updates.
Helldivers 2, published by Sony, has also been part of broader player discussions regarding the company's policies, particularly concerning the cessation of support for physical game distribution on its consoles.
