Arrowhead Studios has announced that the highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000 crossover Warbond for Helldivers 2 will launch on August 12. This new content pack introduces a range of items inspired by the Astra Militarum, the Imperial Guard.

The Warbond will feature three new primary weapons: the TG-8 Sharpshooter, a variant of the Lasgun; the P/40-K Bolt Pistol sidearm; and the 40-K Meltagun, designed as an anti-armour beam weapon. Complementing these armaments are the TG-122 Demo Trooper armor set, styled after Kasrkin Stormtroopers, and an additional unnamed armor set resembling Cadian Astra Militarum gear. A new proximity mine, the G/40-K Meltamine, will also be available.

The thematic alignment with the Imperial Guard is a natural fit, given their shared characteristics with Helldivers: facing overwhelming odds and engaging in relentless, often suicidal, battles against existential threats. While specific details on vehicle patterns were mentioned, they were described as somewhat uninspired. The developers previously revealed the existence of this crossover during the Warhammer Skulls 10th anniversary showcase, noting the thematic similarities between both franchises' settings, which are frequently besieged by alien and robotic adversaries.

Helldivers 2 has consistently expanded its arsenal and cosmetic options through Warbonds, and this collaboration marks a significant crossover with the venerable Warhammer 40,000 universe. Players can anticipate more details when the official PlayStation blog post detailing the Warbond's full contents is released.
