Henry Cavill's latest collaboration with director Guy Ritchie, the action thriller "In the Grey," has achieved significant success on streaming platforms after a modest box office performance. The film, which also features Eiza González and Jake Gyllenhaal, is currently ranking within Prime Video's top 10 worldwide.
"In the Grey" garnered $23.7 million globally in theaters, a figure reportedly less than a third of its production budget. Despite this, the film has found a wider audience through streaming, evidenced by its 82% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and its current placement at number 5 on Prime Video's streaming charts, ahead of other notable titles like Jake Gyllenhaal's recent remake of "Road House."
The film is described as a covert operatives on a mission to retrieve a stolen billion-dollar fortune from a ruthless despot, involving a complex game of strategy, deception, and survival. This narrative aligns with the engaging style often found in Ritchie's filmography.
This marks the third film collaboration between Ritchie and Cavill, following "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." (2015) and "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" (2024). It is also the second time Cavill and Eiza González have worked together under Ritchie's direction. The film's initial release saw limited promotion, and a 52% score on Rotten Tomatoes did not initially bolster its reception.
"In the Grey" is available for streaming on Prime Video.
