Developer Flazm has unveiled Hodka, an upcoming open-world scavenging game, with a world premiere trailer at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct. The game centers on a lone traveler and their van, presented as a mobile home, venturing through a desolate world.
Scavenging and Survival
The trailer showcases the player using a metal detector to find parts for upgrading the van. Inventory management appears to be a key mechanic, requiring players to discern valuable loot from mere junk. The world of Hodka, though seemingly in ruins, is populated by locals who may require assistance to pass through their territories. Navigating environmental hazards such as washed-out bridges and collapsed tunnels will also be part of the journey.
The central narrative involves the player searching for their uncle. As the game progresses, players will collect puzzle pieces to uncover his whereabouts. The trailer also hints at a supernatural threat, with a dark fog rolling in at night that conceals unknown dangers.
Hodka is available to wishlist on Steam, though a release date has not yet been announced.
