A fan-made Lego set inspired by the acclaimed Metroidvania title Hollow Knight has progressed to the next stage of consideration for official release. The "Hollow Knight: A Journey to Hallownest" concept, created by fan designer Pingouin RainbowDash, was included in the "Parking Lot" after Lego's third Ideas Review of 2025. This designation signifies that Lego will undertake further evaluation of the project before a final decision on its production is made.
The "Parking Lot" is a holding status that suggests the Hollow Knight set could still become an official Lego product at a later date, with updates to be provided in future Lego Ideas Reviews. The mock-up presented for the set is a modular display featuring three distinct scenes: the Knight resting on a bench in Dirtmouth, Hornet in the Greenpath, and the Shade in Crystal Peak. These detailed dioramas reflect key environments and characters from the game.
Lego announced the results of its 2025-3 Ideas Review on July 14. The "Hollow Knight: A Journey to Hallownest" set was one of four fan submissions to enter the "Parking Lot," alongside concepts based on Bob's Burgers, Naruto, and the historic photograph "Lunch atop a Skyscraper." In contrast, three other submissions were approved for official production: a Jumanji board game, a Universal Monsters castle, and a set of kimonos.
Hollow Knight, released in 2017 by Team Cherry, has maintained a strong reputation as a standout title in the Metroidvania genre. The studio later released its sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, which generated discussions among players regarding its difficulty. The game was recognized in a list of the 50 best games of 2025, ranking at number eight.
