Big Walk, the latest title from independent developer House House, has sold over one million copies in less than seven days since its launch. The publisher, Panic, announced the achievement via social media, expressing gratitude for the player reception. "In just six days, over one million of you have bought Big Walk, our co-op adventure all about talking and walking," Panic stated. "We are so grateful that so many of you are spending time with our game. And we deeply appreciate your fanart, your streams, your stories, and your moments. Thank you for playing."
Big Walk challenges parties of players to explore an open world, tackling puzzles and platforming segments that emphasize communication. The game is designed to be played with in-game communication tools, such as proximity chat and non-verbal emotes, intentionally making external voice chat applications like Discord incompatible. This design choice aims to enhance the cooperative experience by forcing players to rely on the game's built-in systems to coordinate actions. The title is exclusively multiplayer, supporting groups of two to twelve players.
Critics have responded positively to Big Walk. In a review, it was noted that the approximately nine-hour experience for a three-player crew felt like a significant shared journey, filled with laughter and inventive puzzle solutions. The game's conclusion was described as effectively reinforcing its core message of shared experience.
Big Walk is currently available on PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. House House previously developed the acclaimed game Untitled Goose Game.
