PlayStation Plus subscribers can anticipate the arrival of Big Walk, the latest game from House House, as a day-one release for the August 2026 lineup. The announcement offers a glimpse into the upcoming free games for the subscription service, with the full slate expected on July 29.

Big Walk is described by its creators as a video game centered around "talking to your friends." According to the game's official website, it aims to be "both a big adventure, and a nice place to hang out," emphasizing teamwork and communication within its cooperative multiplayer framework. House House and publisher Panic have stated that Big Walk is designed as a "long-form cooperative game" intended for play with a consistent group over multiple sessions, rather than with randomly matched strangers. They believe the experience is enhanced when played with people known to each other.

The game will support cross-play and is also slated for release on Mac, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows PC.

The August PlayStation Plus games are scheduled to become available on Tuesday, August 4. This follows the usual pattern for Sony's subscription service updates. Until then, subscribers can still access July's free games, which include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, For the King 2, and CrossCode, until August 3.

PlayStation Plus Essential, the service's entry-level tier, provides access to online multiplayer, a monthly selection of free PS4 and PS5 games, cloud storage, and discounts on the PlayStation Store. The monthly subscription cost for Essential was recently adjusted, with annual plans costing $79.99, three-month subscriptions at $27.99, and monthly plans at $10.99, reflecting price increases across all PS Plus tiers in May.
