How to Unlock Cyberpunk 2077's Edgerunners-Themed 'Clampdown' Quest

Following the release of the 2.05 update for Cyberpunk 2077, players can now access a new quest titled "Clampdown," which serves as a thematic prequel to the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime. This mission introduces characters from the anime, such as King, and offers exclusive rewards, including themed gear and a unique weapon. However, the quest is not immediately available upon updating the game and requires players to meet certain in-game prerequisites.

Starting the Clampdown Quest

To begin "Clampdown," players must first complete "The Heist," a significant mission within Cyberpunk 2077's main storyline that marks the end of the game's first act. After finishing "The Heist," players need to complete at least two "gigs" associated with the fixer Wakako Okada. Gigs are side missions found throughout Night City. The game does not explicitly indicate which gigs belong to which fixer until players approach their locations. Once two of Wakako's gigs are completed, players must wait for a text message from her. This message, which may require players to advance in-game time by skipping 24 or 12 hours, will appear on V's phone as "a request from King."

Locating Wakako's Gigs

While players may have already completed some of Wakako's gigs, two specific locations are highlighted for those who have not. One gig, "We Have Your Wife," is located in Japantown, Westbrook, northeast of Wakako's usual area. This mission involves a rescue operation that leads to an underground casino. Another gig can be found in Charter Hill, Westbrook, near a double-lane highway. Approaching this gig's icon will reveal it as a Tyger Claw and Vulture-related mission, which also involves navigating to a hidden underground casino.

Quest Rewards

Upon successfully initiating and completing the "Clampdown" quest, players will be rewarded with several items that mirror King's appearance in the anime. These include King's Coat, King's Bulletproof Vest, King's Glasses, and King's Pants, all contributing to an armor set. Additionally, players will receive the "Coronation," a Tier 4 Iconic Tech Revolver. This weapon features a significant headshot damage multiplier, armor penetration, a fast charge time, and two open mod slots, providing a tangible link to the Edgerunners universe.
