Sony has announced the free monthly games for PlayStation Plus subscribers for October 2026, with the new titles becoming available on October 6.
The lineup is headlined by Hunt: Showdown 1896, Crytek's cooperative and competitive extraction shooter. The game is lauded for its tense atmosphere and unique blend of PvE and PvP gameplay. Reviewing the title in 2021, its core principle was described as "predators become prey," where careful movement and awareness are paramount to survival. Console versions of Hunt: Showdown arrived in late 2024, and a significant 2.0 overhaul was released last summer, ensuring a relatively fresh experience for newcomers.
Joining Hunt: Showdown 1896 is F1 25, the latest installment in the Formula 1 racing series. The third title in the October offering is Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2, a voxel-art spin-off from the popular EDF series, which includes split-screen co-op.
PlayStation Plus subscribers have until October 5 to claim last month's free games before the new titles become available.
