IGN has officially launched its own Discord server, creating a new digital space for its community to interact with IGN staff and other fans. The server is designed as a central hub for discussions covering a wide range of topics, including gaming, movies, technology, and anime.

Direct Fan Interaction and Exclusive Content

Membership on the IGN Discord server will provide opportunities for direct engagement with IGN's podcast hosts and participation in online gaming sessions alongside IGN staff. The platform will also host community watch parties during major events, featuring exclusive chats and giveaways. Furthermore, IGN is reviving features such as IGN's First Fridays, Photo Mode challenges, and Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions with game developers and IGN staff.

Launch Events and Ongoing Activities

To commemorate the launch, the IGN Discord will feature events tied to August's IGN First initiative, which is focused on the title Control Resonant. Beginning August 12th, an AMA session with Simon Cardy, who is leading the coverage for Control Resonant, will allow community members to ask questions about the upcoming game. A revamped Photo Mode will also be introduced, with the first theme inspired by Control Resonant. Throughout August, the server will host gameplay sessions for various titles, including Marvel Tokon, Splatoon Raiders, and Big Walk, offering opportunities for players to team up or compete.

The IGN Discord server is presented as more than just a chat room, aiming to offer a comprehensive connection point for the IGN community. It is intended to be a destination for those seeking to discuss industry news or find others to play multiplayer games with.
