IKEA has partnered with Xbox to launch a new line of official gaming furniture, dubbed "YXSTABY." The collection, set to go on sale in the UK in October, includes a variety of items designed to integrate gaming setups more seamlessly into living spaces. This collaboration reflects a growing trend of gaming furniture moving beyond dedicated rooms and into the broader home environment.

The nine-piece YXSTABY collection was developed jointly by designers from both IKEA and Xbox. It features practical furniture such as TV stands on castors, side tables with accessory storage, and display boxes for controllers. Notably, the line also includes more distinctive pieces like "gaming Thumbstick stools" in green and black, which are designed to resemble oversized Xbox controller thumbsticks. IKEA stated these stools were created using the controller's original 3D design files for accuracy, and they feature a tilting mechanism that mirrors the thumbstick's motion.

Other items in the collection include a green gaming D-pad cushion and a D-pad platter inspired by the design of Xbox Elite controllers. Carl Ledbetter, Xbox Head of Design, commented on the collaboration, stating that the partnership with IKEA provided an opportunity to design for the entire home gaming experience, from the screen to the surrounding environment.

The YXSTABY collection will be available through IKEA's website and in stores. Prices for the items include the gaming lounge chair at £89, thumbstick stools at £35 each, TV stands at £99, a side table at £115, controller display boxes at £15, a laptop support with storage for £19, a monitor stand for £25, and D-pad cushions and platters at £12 each. The collection is currently on display at Xbox's booth during Gamescom.
